Saudi-Austrian Coffee Collaboration: Introducing the Premium Saudi Blend by Bieder & Maier and Saudi Coffee Company
The Saudi Coffee Company and Austrian coffee manufacturer Bieder & Maier recently premiered the new "Premium Saudi Blend" coffee in Vienna and Riyadh.
This collaboration brings together Saudi and Austrian coffee cultures.
The new roast, which caters to espresso, filter, and cold brewing, is made using beans sourced directly from the Jazan region through a partnership with the Jazean brand.
According to the CEO of the Saudi Coffee Company, Khalid AbuTheeb, "The coffee is an embodiment of our culture and identity." The partnership aims to enhance the local coffee industry and promote Saudi coffee tradition.
In 2011, Viennese coffee house culture and Arabic coffee were declared intangible World Heritage by UNESCO.
In 2022, Saudi Khawlani Arabica beans also received this recognition.
AbuTheeb announced a collaboration between the Saudi Coffee Company and Cenomi Retail to bring unique coffee blends made with Saudi beans and international beans to the Saudi and Austrian markets.
Starting in the fall of this year, coffee houses will open in Saudi Arabia with Cenomi Retail as the franchise partner, supplying the finest Saudi beans directly from the Jazan region.
Dr. Margarete Schramboeck, a former Austrian minister and current Aramco digital board member, has expressed her interest in Saudi coffee culture since moving to the Kingdom in 2022.
She is passionate about creating a unique Saudi coffee blend and has initiated a partnership with the Ministry of Investment to innovate and preserve coffee heritage on a global scale.
Minister Khalid Al-Falih and his team were thanked for their support.
Schramboeck, who visited Jazan's coffee-growing families, was impressed by the quality and tradition of Saudi Arabian coffee.
Rudi Kobza, CEO of Bieder & Maier Vienna, emphasized the significance of the collaboration between the Saudi Coffee Company and his firm.
The Premium Saudi Blend represents the unique Saudi heritage and will be available in the first Bieder & Maier cafe in Saudi Arabia and Vienna.
Schramboeck was passionate about this project due to the shared coffee passion between Austria and Saudi Arabia.
In 2011, the Viennese coffee house tradition was designated as an intangible world heritage by UNESCO.
In 2015 and 2022, Arabic coffee and Saudi Khawlani Arabica beans also received this recognition.
These cultural practices are now protected due to their significance.
Starting this fall, several coffee houses will open in Saudi Arabia, with Cenomi Retail serving as the franchise partner.
