On February 24, 2025, Riyadh witnessed the setting of a Guinness World Record for the largest Saudi Ardah performance, a traditional dance integral to the Kingdom's cultural heritage.
The event, part of the Founding Day celebrations, featured 633 participants who took part in the renowned dance, reflecting the strong national pride associated with the Ardah.
The Saudi Ardah is traditionally performed during special events and embodies a rich cultural history, symbolizing valor and unity.
The performance includes a poetic recital, accompanied by drumming to establish the rhythm for the dancers.
Central to the performance is the group leader, who carries a sword and executes movements that echo the disciplined motions of warriors.
The Founding Day events, organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Principality of Riyadh Region from February 20 to 23, drew in hundreds of thousands of visitors, welcoming a diverse audience.
This gathering not only highlighted the importance of the Ardah as a national tradition but also showcased Saudi Arabia's commitment to celebrating and preserving its cultural identity on a global platform.
