Saudi Arabia Achieves Guinness World Record with Largest Ardah Performance

The traditional dance, featuring 633 performers, marked the Kingdom's Founding Day celebrations at Al-Adl Plaza in Riyadh.
In a significant cultural milestone, Saudi Arabia has officially set the Guinness World Record for the largest Saudi Ardah performance, celebrated during the Kingdom's Founding Day events.

The record-setting performance took place on February 22, 2025, at Al-Adl Plaza in Riyadh, where 633 artists participated in the traditional folk dance, drawing an audience of over 50,000 visitors over the course of the four-day celebration from February 20 to 23.

The Saudi Ardah, a dance ingrained in the nation’s cultural fabric, serves as a symbol of national pride and heritage.

This year's performance highlighted the importance of such traditions in showcasing Saudi Arabia's rich historical tapestry.

The event attracted attention not only from local attendees but also from a global audience, emphasizing the cultural significance of the Ardah.

In addition to the dance, the celebrations featured a heritage exhibition offering insights into Saudi Arabia's history.

Through a collection of photographs, documents, and visual displays, visitors were informed about the Kingdom's foundational moments, particularly under the leadership of Imam Muhammad bin Saud, who established the Saudi state in 1139 AH. The exhibition highlighted the achievements of the Kingdom across different eras and regimes.

Founding Day, recognized annually on February 22, commemorates the inception of the Saudi Arabian state.

The day was designated a national holiday in 2022 by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, marking the historical significance of Imam Muhammad bin Saud's governance in Diriyah.

This occasion serves as a reflection of the Kingdom's substantial progress and development throughout its history.

The celebration offerings included an interactive experience that allowed visitors to embark on a virtual journey retracing the stages of Saudi Arabia’s founding, fostering a deeper connection to the Kingdom's past.

The recognition from Guinness World Records signifies Saudi Arabia's dedication to preserving and celebrating its cultural legacy.

The success of the Ardah performance not only serves as a reminder of the nation’s historical roots but also illustrates the Kingdom's commitment to cultural pride as it continues to navigate its future.
