Saudi Arabia Condemns Mali Attacks, OIC Raises Concerns Over Civilian Lives
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the recent terrorist and separatist attacks in Mali's capital, Bamako, and other regions. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) shares these concerns, particularly regarding the threat to civilian lives and stability.
Riyadh: In a statement released by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom has condemned the recent terrorist and separatist attacks in Mali with the strongest terms.
These attacks targeted both military and civilian areas within Bamako and other cities.
The country extended its deepest condolences to the affected families and reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the Government of Mali.
Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), also issued a statement condemning these operations.
He expressed grave concern over their implications for civilian lives and peace, as well as stability in the region.
This condemnation comes at a time when an Al-Qaeda-linked militant group has publicly announced its alliance with rebels to carry out what is considered one of the most complex attacks in years in Mali.
The groups launched surprise dawn attacks across various regions, including the northern city of Kidal, which was seized by Tuareg rebels.
As these events unfold, there are heightened concerns about the safety and security of civilians within Mali and the broader impact on peace and stability efforts in West Africa.
