Saudi Arabia Awards 11 Gravel Mining Sites in Al-Summan Complex

The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced winning companies for 11 mining sites in the Al-Summan Crushers Complex, allocated for gravel extraction.
Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources recently revealed the successful companies in the bid for 11 mining sites within the Al-Summan Crushers Complex in the Eastern Province.

These sites, covering a total area of 9 square kilometers, have been designated for the exploitation of gravel ore.

This development aligns with the ministry's strategic goals to boost the use of mineral resources across the Kingdom, particularly for construction and development initiatives.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Jarrah Al-Jarrah, highlighted that the successful bidders include a diverse range of contracting companies such as Shibh Al-Jazira Contracting Co., Majid Mohammed Al-Odhaib Contracting Co., and Al-Ejtiyaz Contracting Co. Additionally, companies like Abdulrahman Zayed Al Muhtab Co., Western Bainoona Contracting Co., and Al-Namal Contracting Co. were awarded sites.

Other successful entities include Al Majdal General Contracting Co., Solaiman Bin Saleh Al-Mohileb Mining Co., Economic Center Contracting Co., Ansab General Contracting Co., and Gateway Contracting Co.

According to Al-Jarrah, the announcement of winners followed a comprehensive process that began with an application period from February 15, 2026, to March 6, 2026.

This was followed by a qualification phase for applicants and then a competitive bidding round for the designated sites.

Offering these mining sites through a competitive process is part of the Ministry's broader strategy to promote the development of the mining sector as an essential component in economic diversification efforts.

It aims at enhancing governance within mining activities, safeguarding sites from unauthorized encroachment, and fostering local economic growth in areas surrounding these projects.
