State-of-the-art augmented reality transforms Diriyah’s future Media & Innovation District master plan into an interactive spatial experience for investors and visitors
Augmento and Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Company have jointly launched a cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) experience that brings the kingdom’s visionary Media & Innovation District to life, allowing visitors and stakeholders to explore the future development in rich three-dimensional detail.
Unveiled at Cityscape Global in Riyadh, the AR installation uses devices such as Apple Vision Pro headsets, iPads and mobile phones to immerse users in a spatial narrative of the planned district, letting them navigate buildings, residential units, public spaces and pathways long before construction begins.
The experience represents a departure from conventional static presentations, enabling users to step into a dynamic model that blends the city’s approximately three-hundred-year heritage with forward-looking urban design.
Diriyah’s Media & Innovation District is a central element of the multi-billion-dollar Diriyah master plan, itself a cornerstone of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the kingdom’s economy and expand its cultural and innovation sectors.
Augmento’s co-founder described the collaboration as setting a new standard for property visualisation, helping developers align stakeholders more rapidly, engage global investors and communicate complex architectural and planning concepts with greater emotional clarity.
