US, Britain Sanction Gaza Now Media Channel Over Hamas Fundraising
The US and UK have imposed sanctions on individuals and companies linked to the media channel Gaza Now, accusing it of supporting Hamas through fundraising.
The channel, known for its extensive reach on Telegram, and its founder Mustafa Ayash were targeted following their fundraising activities after Hamas' significant attack on Israel on October 7, which led to around 1,160 deaths and the capture of 250 hostages.
In retaliation, Israel's actions have resulted in over 32,414 deaths in Gaza, primarily among women and children. The US Treasury emphasized its dedication to undermining Hamas' financing capabilities, particularly through online fundraising.
Alongside Ayash, Aozma Sultana and companies under her direction were sanctioned for financially supporting Gaza Now. The UK has also executed asset freezes on individuals linked to Gaza Now for their support to terrorist organizations.
