Tunisia's state grains agency has reportedly acquired about 25,000 metric tons of animal feed barley through an international tender held on Friday, according to European traders.
The purchase is said to have been made in a single consignment at an estimated cost of $265.45 per ton, including costs and freight (c&f) from trading house Ameropa.Traders' assessments indicate that the barley could originate from various regions, including the Black Sea, eastern Europe, or the Mediterranean, with desired shipment dates ranging between May 25 and June 5.
If sourced from western Europe, delivery is expected to occur between May 20 and May 30.
Shipments from the United States, Canada, or South America are targeted for a timeframe spanning May 15 to May 25.In its previous barley tender on February 12, Tunisia procured 50,000 tons at the lowest price of $276.90 per ton c&f.
