ABHA: The 17th season of the Heritage Commission's archaeological excavation project at the Jurash site in Asir has concluded.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts by the commission to preserve national heritage, document archeological and architectural features, and emphasize the Kingdom's cultural diversity.
Excavations have revealed residential structures from two distinct periods, constructed with dressed stone and mud mortar.
These units include grain storage niches, pottery ovens, and basins, illustrating the architectural customs of their respective eras.
A variety of artifacts has been discovered, such as stone tools like pestles and millstones, along with glass vessels.
The commission has reiterated its dedication to continuing archaeological work, reinforcing documentation and protection efforts in alignment with Vision 2030.
This move supports the preservation of cultural heritage within the country.
