Saudi Arabia has delivered a 90 million-dollar grant to the (PA), a senior PA finance official confirmed after a hand-over ceremony at the Saudi embassy in Amman.
The funds were received by acting PA finance minister from Saudi envoy , and form part of a broader international coalition launched by Riyadh this autumn to stabilise PA finances.
The grant follows months of fiscal squeeze faced by the PA after the Israeli government halted its monthly clearing-revenue transfers — the bulk of Ramallah’s budget — under orders from finance minister .
The suspension, reportedly intended as leverage over recent statehood recognitions by Western countries, has left PA employees unpaid for months and threatened basic services in health, education and public administration.
