The Technical Female College in Jeddah held a three-day Fashion Technology Hackathon from Monday to promote innovation and creativity in the fashion industry.
The event, overseen by the student activities administration, was attended by Marei Al-Qarni, the director general of technical and vocational training in the Makkah region.
Afra Al-Layati, the college dean, described it as a pioneering initiative bringing together fashion and technology enthusiasts from technical colleges and universities.
Participants were encouraged to develop innovative fashion concepts and models in a creative environment.
The Fashion Technology Hackathon is an event aimed at promoting competition, innovation, and scientific skills in Saudi Arabia's fashion industry.
The hackathon offers three tracks: sustainability, technical solutions, and traditional clothing.
It targets fashion design, manufacturing, computer science, software engineering, and other technology-related field specialists among Saudi trainees or graduates.
The event includes an immersive exhibition, advisory sessions, workshops, and educational visits, as reported by the SPA.
