The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses support for the security measures taken by Bahrain to preserve its sovereignty.
Riyadh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia has announced the country's backing for the security measures undertaken by Bahrain.
These measures aim to safeguard the nation's security and uphold its sovereignty.
The statement from the Kingdom's Foreign Ministry reaffirms full support for Bahrain in countering any actions that could undermine its security and stability, as well as deterring attempts to target its sovereignty or interfere in its internal affairs.
The Kingdom also emphasizes the interconnected nature of security within Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the broader Gulf region.
Ensuring Bahrain's security is seen as integral to maintaining regional stability.
Additionally, the UN’s International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has adopted a draft resolution condemning the impact of Iranian attacks on telecommunications infrastructure in four Middle Eastern countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Jordan.
This decision came following recent hostilities in the region which began on February 28th, with multiple strikes attributed to the US and Israel against Iran.
In response, Tehran has launched retaliatory attacks targeting various Gulf regions.
The draft resolution seeks to address concerns over civilian telecommunications and information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure being affected by these conflicts.
The ITU Council adopted this resolution by consensus, as confirmed by an ITU spokeswoman.
