JEDDAH: The Red Sea Museum commemorated International Museum Day on Monday by hosting a series of interactive activities that transformed its galleries into immersive learning spaces.
Visitors were engaged in hands-on experiences centered around the Red Sea's rich history, diverse marine life, ancient pilgrimage routes, and its storied maritime past.Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Hammad, chief executive officer at the Museums Commission, emphasized the significance of museums as custodians of collective memory.
He noted that such events underline the evolving role of museums in Saudi Arabia as dynamic cultural hubs where history and modernity intersect.The museum's program featured six interactive stations across its galleries.

The themes spanned from 'Al-Bunt,' exploring traditional Red Sea architectural materials, to 'You Are the Artist,' an invitation for children to sketch inspired by marine artifacts.A notable exhibit was 'Underwater World,' where digital content coupled with coloring activities provided insight into the Red Sea's vibrant biodiversity.
