Netanyahu Receives Successful Treatment for Prostate Cancer
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed that he had successfully undergone treatment for early-stage prostate cancer.
TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Friday that he had received successful treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, though the exact timing of his treatment remains unclear.
In a statement released through social media alongside his annual medical report, Netanyahu, 76 years old, revealed that an early malignant tumor was identified during a routine checkup.
According to Netanyahu, this "targeted treatment" effectively removed the condition without leaving any trace.
The medical report, which also states that Netanyahu is in good health overall, details that he underwent radiation therapy for his prostate cancer.
The specific date of his treatment has not been disclosed.
Netanyahu's decision to delay the release of his medical report by two months was made to prevent what he called "false propaganda" from being spread by Iran.
Rumors claiming Netanyahu had died began circulating on social media and Iranian state media in March, a period during which tensions between Israel and Iran were high.
This recent development follows a previous health concern in 2024 when Netanyahu underwent surgery for a urinary tract infection caused by benign prostate enlargement.
Additionally, in 2023, he received a pacemaker.
With elections scheduled to take place in Israel by October, Netanyahu's health updates have become a point of public interest and scrutiny.
