Two Killed and Three Injured in Shooting at Texas Shopping Mall
A man killed two people and injured three others in a shooting at a shopping mall north of Dallas, with police stating that the victims knew the attacker.
On Tuesday, a shooting incident occurred at the K Towne Plaza in Carrollton, Texas, which is situated approximately 20 miles north of Dallas.
According to Chief Roberto Arredondo of the Carrollton Police Department, the gunman fatally shot two individuals and injured three others during what has been described as an apparent altercation related to business dealings.
The perpetrator was swiftly apprehended following a short pursuit on foot.Footage from the scene showed officers armed with firearms as they moved through the doors at K Towne Plaza in Carrollton's Koreatown area, which is known for its vibrant community of Korean-American residents.
The FBI and other federal agencies were among the law enforcement personnel present.Carrollton has a population exceeding 130,000, with over 4,000 residents of Korean descent, as per the latest data from the American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Over the past two decades, Carrollton has evolved into a flourishing Koreatown, particularly in the Dallas metropolitan area, owing to significant investment from the Korean community.
The area is characterized by prominent businesses such as H-Mart supermarkets and numerous Korean eateries offering a range of dishes, from fried chicken to shaved ice desserts.
Furthermore, the city hosts multiple Korean churches of different denominations, including Baptist and Presbyterian establishments.
