Saudi-Malaysian Business Council Launched: Enhancing Economic Ties and Collaboration
A new business council has been launched between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia to boost economic ties and collaboration across various sectors.
The council was inaugurated during a visit by Saudi Minister of Commerce Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, who led a delegation of 44 officials and leaders from 20 government bodies and 24 private sector entities.
Al-Qasabi announced the establishment of the council, which aims to enhance economic relations between the two countries.
The council was inaugurated in partnership with Malaysia's Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Zafrul Aziz.
The Saudi Arabian commerce minister, Majid Al-Qasabi, held a roundtable meeting in Malaysia with Malaysian officials, including the chairman of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and the chairman of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corp. The discussions focused on enhancing business partnerships between the two countries.
Al-Qasabi also met with several Malaysian ministers, including those of entrepreneurship development, agriculture and food industry, and works.
Topics of discussion included cooperation in training, knowledge transfer, innovation, and sustainability, as well as reviewing Malaysia's experience in supporting small and medium-sized projects.
During meetings between Saudi and Malaysian officials, discussions focused on promoting exports and enhancing companies' global market access.
Collaboration in innovation, technology, research programs, and e-commerce was emphasized.
Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, which has brought significant economic transformations since 2016, was highlighted.
The close trade relations between the two countries and opportunities for expansion and diversification were noted.
Saudi Arabia aims to become a global hub for trade and logistics services.
Representatives from the Federation of Saudi Chambers explored investment opportunities during the visit.
The meeting resulted in the signing of economic cooperation and investment agreements between Al-Orainan and the National Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia.
Additionally, private companies from both countries entered into trade and investment partnerships in various sectors following bilateral meetings.
