Saudi Literature and Heritage on Display at Doha Book Fair
The King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives showcases Saudi history and cultural heritage.
The King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, known as Darah, is participating in the Doha International Book Fair as part of the Saudi pavilion.
This participation underscores Darah's dedication to promoting Saudi history and cultural heritage while strengthening the Kingdom's international cultural presence.
The 35th edition of the fair runs until May 23, featuring more than 515 publishers and entities from 36 countries, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Darah is presenting a selection of scholarly, historical, and cultural publications, along with archival and knowledge-based projects that document and preserve Saudi history for researchers and scholars.
Its participation also highlights its mission to advance historical knowledge and safeguard the Kingdom's historical memory while fostering cultural exchange with institutions and visitors worldwide.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs is also participating, showcasing Saudi Arabia's efforts in serving Islam and Muslims through publications and manuscripts, along with interactive educational and digital content.
The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission inaugurated the Saudi pavilion on May 14, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing presence in the global publishing and cultural landscape.
CEO Abdullatif Al-Wasel stated that the commission aims to promote Saudi literary and intellectual production while highlighting the development of the Kingdom's publishing and translation sectors.
A cultural program featuring panel discussions and poetry evenings with Saudi authors and intellectuals addressing issues related to literature, publishing, and translation will be part of this initiative.
