Kami Rita Sherpa, a renowned Nepali Sherpa guide, successfully scaled Mount Everest on Sunday, marking his 32nd ascent to the world's highest peak.
Born in Thame village, Solukhumbu district, Kami Rita, 56, reached the summit at 8,849 meters (29,032 feet) while guiding clients from the 14 Peaks Expedition company.
The Nepali government's Department of Tourism praised Kami Rita for his accomplishment, recognizing it as a significant contribution to the promotion of mountain tourism in Nepal.

Mount Everest has been ascended by more than 8,000 climbers to date, many of whom have scaled it multiple times since its first ascent in 1953 by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary.
Among non-Sherpa climbers, British guide Kenton Cool holds the record for the highest number of climbs at 19, followed by American climbers Dave Hahn and Garrett Madison with 15 ascents each.
