Riyadh: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has sent a congratulatory message to Iraq's prime minister-designate Ali Al-Zaidi on his appointment as head of government.

The announcement was made by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.

Al-Zaidi, a prominent businessman, was nominated by Iraq's newly elected president Nizar Amede in April after receiving endorsement from the country's main Shiite alliance.

His appointment comes at a time when Iraq is seeking to stabilize its economy and address ongoing security challenges.
