Saudi Arabia, France Strengthen Partnership in Mining Sector
Both countries explore opportunities for cooperation in mineral exploration, investment, and technology integration.
Riyadh: Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef met with France's Interministerial Delegate for Strategic Minerals and Metals Supplies Benjamin Gallezot to discuss enhancing their strategic partnership in the mining sector.
The meeting took place in Istanbul on the sidelines of the Critical Minerals Forum, organized by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) from April 28-29.The two officials affirmed the strong bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and France and explored opportunities for cooperation in areas such as mineral exploration, investment in mining projects, and localizing the mineral industries.
They emphasized the importance of leveraging advanced technologies and innovative solutions to improve sector efficiency and enhance sustainability.
Additionally, they discussed integrating value chains for strategic minerals.The Critical Minerals Forum brought together government leaders, industry representatives, and international organizations to address challenges and opportunities related to critical minerals supply chains.
The event aimed to foster dialogue on strategies to ensure a secure and sustainable global supply of these vital resources.
