Riyadh: The Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz Foundation and Taif University, represented by the Taif History Center, is set to host the inaugural Saudi Military History Forum in September.

According to a report from the Saudi Press Agency, the primary objective of the forum is to document national military heritage and showcase the history of the armed forces within the Kingdom.

The forum will be structured around four main themes: the inception and development of the military in the Kingdom; Taif governorate's pivotal role in shaping the Saudi army; the historical evolution of the armed forces; and sources for documenting Saudi military history.

This comprehensive approach aims to provide a detailed understanding of the Kingdom’s military history, tracing its lineage from its founding to the present day.

The forum primarily targets academics, researchers, and postgraduate students specializing in history and military science.

It seeks to support specialized research, facilitate the exchange of scientific expertise, and foster integration between academic institutions, documentary archives, and military entities.

Participants will engage with a diverse range of scientific and educational activities, including the presentation of peer-reviewed research papers, panel discussions on specialized topics, an accompanying historical exhibition, and guided tours of various military facilities and centers of historical significance.

The Ministry of Defense invites interested parties to submit abstracts for research presentations and full scientific papers through the digital platform managed by the King Abdulaziz Foundation.

The deadline for submitting abstracts is May 15, with a closing date for comprehensive research papers set for June 30.
