In the ITV interview, Winston Peters' former Conservative colleague, Andrew Anderson, shared that some senior party officials had expressed support for his controversial words, suggesting they resonated with many people in the country.
Anderson did not name any specific individuals but mentioned that at least two Cabinet ministers had contacted him.
He emphasized that he would not breach their confidence.
