Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), in collaboration with the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, has initiated a program designed to accelerate the commercialization of deep technologies.
This week-long Deep Tech Commercialization Bootcamp is taking place at The Garage innovation incubator in Riyadh, bringing together more than 50 research teams.
These teams possess prototypes and technologies that are poised for testing and subsequent market entry.The primary goal of the bootcamp is to empower these national research teams by equipping them with the necessary skills to successfully commercialize their deep technologies.
This includes aligning their solutions with prevailing market needs, as well as constructing viable business models.
Furthermore, the program seeks to enhance participants' understanding of intellectual property rights and patents as valuable investment assets.
It also introduces technology transfer and licensing mechanisms, integral components for effective commercialization.Interactive sessions and hands-on workshops are integral to the bootcamp's agenda, specifically designed to increase the readiness of technology projects for commercial application.
