A ceasefire agreement brokered by US President
Donald Trump in October has yet to fully halt Israeli operations in Gaza.
Israel and Hamas are currently engaged in indirect negotiations aimed at implementing the second phase of this agreement, which includes disarmament measures for Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.
Under the terms of the ceasefire, Israel maintains control over more than half of Gaza, while Hamas holds a narrow strip along the coast.
Since the truce took effect, approximately 900 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli strikes, as per records from health officials in Gaza, though these figures do not distinguish between combatants and civilians.
During this period, four Israeli soldiers have been killed by militants, according to the country’s military accounts.
