Israeli Civilian Killed, Hezbollah and Israeli Forces Exchange Fire Near Lebanon Border
On Friday, the Israeli army reported that a civilian was killed by anti-tank missile fire from Hezbollah near the Israeli-Lebanese border.
The incident occurred in the disputed Shebaa Farms district, and followed several days of escalating violence between the two groups.
Hezbollah has increased rocket attacks, while Israel has responded with "offensive action" in southern Lebanon.
The death of the civilian has raised concerns of a larger conflict between Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel, which last went to war in 2006.
An Arab-Israeli truck driver was reportedly killed when his truck was hit in an attack in Israel.
The identity of the body has not been confirmed by police.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they had destroyed two Israeli vehicles in a complex ambush using missiles and artillery in the Kfarshuba hills.
The Israeli army responded by striking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, including a weapons store, a launcher, and operational infrastructure in the areas of Kfarshuba and Ain El Tineh.
The Israeli army did not directly comment on Hezbollah's claim regarding the truck attack.
The text reports that Shebaa village, Kfarshuba, and Helta in Lebanon were hit by over 150 Israeli shells, resulting in damaged homes.
This attack comes as part of ongoing clashes between Hezbollah and the Israeli army, which began on October 8 following Hamas' unprecedented attack on Israel.
At least 380 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 252 Hezbollah fighters and civilians, according to AFP. Israel reports 11 soldier and nine civilian deaths.
The conflict has displaced tens of thousands of people on both sides.
