Former Al-Ettifaq Star Robin Quaison Reflects on Joyful Hajj Experience
Swedish international, who converted to Islam last year, shares insights from his Hajj journey under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Guests Program.
MINA: Former Al-Ettifaq player and Swedish international Robin Quaison has expressed his joy at performing Hajj this year.
This experience was made possible through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit, overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.Quaison announced his conversion to Islam in October last year.
He highlighted that the most significant moments of his journey included standing at Mount Arafat, spending the night in Muzdalifah, and proceeding to Mina.
According to him, Saudi Arabia's social values and strong faith during his time playing football for Al-Ettifaq had a profound influence on his decision to embrace Islam.
Additionally, he commended the Kingdom's efforts in developing infrastructure and leadership to serve pilgrims effectively.This year, approximately 2,500 pilgrims from 104 countries participated under the program.
Among them were 1,300 Islamic scholars and global figures, along with 200 individuals from Liberia and 1,000 Sudanese family members of martyrs and wounded personnel.Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Alsheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, emphasized that Saudi Arabia dedicated considerable efforts to serving pilgrims.
He explained that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs implemented an extensive operational plan encompassing transportation logistics, tailored accommodation options, and guided cultural programs in Makkah and Madinah.
