In a new global achievement for Saudi sports, Al Hilal football club has successfully broken into the list of the top 50 clubs worldwide.
This accolade comes according to the global ranking by "Opta" network, where Al Hilal scored 86.1 points. The club, known as "The Leader," has outperformed major European teams and is the only Arab club to be included in the list of the world's top 50 teams.
Opta network commented on Al Hilal's achievement, stating, "Al Hilal is the only non-European team to climb to the 44th position with a rating of 86.1 in the global ranking, placing it between Fulham FC of England and Union Saint-Gilloise of Belgium."
The network also mentioned in its report the record set by Al Hilal with 28 consecutive victories, leading to a significant gap. Al Hilal is 34 places ahead of the closest non-European team in the ranking, which is Monterrey of Mexico.
Under the guidance of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, Al Hilal is showcasing impressive results during the current 2023-2024 season. The club has managed to lead the Saudi Roshan League by a margin of 12 points, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the King's Cup and the Asian Champions League semi-finals without a single loss, scoring a total of 109 goals.
