AlUla Musical Road Competition Calls for Kingdom Creatives
Saudi citizens and residents have four weeks to submit original musical compositions for the AlUla Music Competition.
JEDDAH: Saudi citizens and residents are invited to participate in the AlUla Music Competition, which aims to create a unique musical experience at the entrance of AlUla.
Arts AlUla and AlUla Music Hub have launched this initiative, calling on creatives across the Kingdom to submit their original compositions by May 31.The winning entry will be integrated into the specially designed Musical Road, creating audible tones as vehicles drive over it.
This installation combines art and engineering to create a sensory moment where sound and landscape merge, becoming part of the visitor's arrival experience at AlUla.Participants must submit a 30-60 second original composition inspired by the spirit and culture of AlUla and Saudi Arabia.
The selected work will undergo a development phase before being transferred to the Royal Commission for AlUla, with the winner receiving SR100,000 ($26,600) for the intellectual property rights.Hamad Al-Homiedan, director of arts and creative industries at the Royal Commission for AlUla, emphasized the initiative's focus on immersive experiences.
"The Musical Road is an integral part of the destination's identity," he stated, adding that community-driven creativity is central to the project.The competition is delivered by U:Nation and Live Nation on behalf of Arts AlUla and offers direct exposure to leading industry professionals.
This aligns with Vision 2030's objectives to grow the creative economy and deliver world-class cultural experiences.
