BEIRUT: A 12-year-old Syrian girl succumbed to her injuries shortly after her father died in south Lebanon on Saturday following an Israeli drone attack that targeted them with three consecutive missiles.
The two were reportedly on a motorcycle in the Al-Nabatieh region when an Israeli drone pursued and struck them, initially surviving the first missile strike.
However, the second missile hit the father, while the daughter managed to move approximately 100 meters away from the motorcycle before being targeted again by the drone.
She was taken to Al-Nabatieh's Nabih Berri Governmental University Hospital but did not survive her injuries.
The Lebanese health ministry condemned the attack, labeling it a deliberate violation of international humanitarian law.
An Israeli aircraft also struck a car near Mohammed Saad High School in the Tyre region earlier that day, killing three individuals.
The Israeli Defense Forces are investigating the incident.
