Ukrainian officials report casualties following Russian drone attacks across the country.
KYIV: Russian strikes across Ukraine have resulted in three deaths and at least four injuries, as confirmed by Ukrainian officials on Sunday.
The ongoing conflict has seen Moscow launch hundreds of drones nightly since its invasion in 2022, while Ukraine conducts regular counter-attacks targeting Russian energy and military installations.
In the northeastern region along the border with Russia, specifically within the Sumy area, one drone attack led to the death of two civilians.
According to Oleg Grygorov, head of Sumy's regional military administration, the attack occurred near a settlement less than five kilometers from the Ukrainian-Russian border.
The victims were identified as men aged 48 and 72.
In Dnipro, located in central-eastern Ukraine, a single fatality and four injuries resulted from drone and artillery strikes, according to Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional military administration.
He added that private residences and vehicles sustained damage due to these attacks.
Earlier on Sunday, prior to the reported casualties, the Moscow-installed governor of Sevastopol in Crimea announced that a Ukrainian drone attack had caused one fatality and damaged several homes and a dance school within different neighborhoods of the port city.
The governor claimed that 43 drones were shot down during this counterattack.
On Saturday, it was reported by Ukrainian authorities that at least eight individuals lost their lives in Dnipro after enduring continuous Russian strikes for approximately 20 hours.
