He was born on April 2, 1949, and was one of the most prominent poets in the Arabian Peninsula.

His poems were frequently turned into songs by Gulf composers, such as Talal Maddah and Abdul Rab Idris.

Known as "The Engineer of Words," Prince Badr was celebrated for his eloquence and philosophical insights that captivated audiences for nearly half a century.

He was a pioneer of poetic modernism in the Arabian Peninsula, skillfully blending themes of love, pride, and social and political realities in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world.

His death was mourned by officials and celebrities across the region.

Prince Badr, a renowned Saudi poet, had his works performed by notable artists like Talal Maddah, Mohammed Abdu, and Kadim Al Sahir.

He received several accolades, including the Order of King Abdulaziz in 2019, and was honored with an event titled "Prince Badr Bin Abdulmohsin Night: Half a Century and the Full Moon." In 2021, the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority announced plans to publish his complete literary works.

Prince Badr studied in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Britain, and the United States.

In 1973, he became the president of the Saudi Society for Culture and Arts and headed the Saudi Poetry Organization.

He also wrote opening operettas for local festivals, including the Janadriyah Festival.

A poet's collected works, titled "Hovering Clouds," "Letter from a Bedouin," "What the Bird Carves in the Date Palm," and "A Painting Perhaps a Poem," were published during the Riyadh International Book Fair in 2022.

The publication was overseen by the Badr Bin Abdulmohsin Cultural Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Culture's Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority.

The works are currently being translated into English and French by Saudi Art House.

The poet's influence and cherished memory were reflected in the mourning of many prominent figures from various domains.
