Hamas' Abu Ubaida Calls for Escalation on 200th Day of Israel-Gaza Conflict; Praises Iran's Attacks and Urges West Bank, Jordan Action
Hamas spokesperson Abu Ubaida urged for an escalation of violence against Israel on the 200th day of the Gaza Strip conflict.
Israel aims to eliminate Hamas, which controls Gaza, after the militant group initiated the war by attacking Israel, resulting in over 34,000 Palestinian deaths and 1,200 Israeli fatalities.
Abu Ubaida praised Iran's drone and missile attacks on Israel on April 13, which set new rules and confused the enemy.
He also called for intensified conflict in the West Bank and Jordan, where Jordan intercepted and shot down Iranian drones bound for Israel.
Hamas leader Abu Ubaida urged Jordanians to increase their efforts to end the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.
Hamas continues to demand that Israel ceases military operations in Gaza, withdraws its forces, allows displaced people to return to northern Gaza, and lifts the blockade.
Abu Ubaida accused Israel of stalling ceasefire negotiations and obstructing mediators' efforts.
Qatar and Egypt have been attempting to mediate a ceasefire, but Qatar's foreign ministry spokesperson called for all parties to be serious in allowing these efforts to succeed.
