The Saudi health system has enhanced specialized cardiac care at the holy sites during Hajj by providing catheterization and cardiac surgery labs across several healthcare facilities.

This initiative aims to improve healthcare efficiency for pilgrims, aligning with the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program to ensure access to specialized care during Hajj.

Cardiac catheterization is a modern procedure used to diagnose and treat heart and arterial diseases without traditional surgery.

It enables rapid treatment of heart attacks and arterial blockages, improves diagnostic accuracy in critical cases, and increases the chances of timely intervention while reducing complications among pilgrims.

Specialized cardiac services at holy sites include catheterization and cardiac surgery at King Abdullah Medical City and catheterization services at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital, East Arafat Hospital, and Mina Emergency Hospital 2.

Additionally, more than 3,000 ambulances and emergency vehicles, 11 air ambulances, and 526 emergency response points have been deployed by the health system, supported by over 7,700 field emergency personnel, as part of its Hajj healthcare readiness plan.
