Saudia Group Wins Award for Strategic Excellence in Project Management

Saudia Group's Project Management Office recognized at the Global Project Excellence Awards ceremony.
Riyadh: Saudia Group's Project Management Office (PMO) has been honored with the Strategy Excellence award at a recent event in Riyadh, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing transformation.

Emad Al-Ghamdi, general manager of transformation and PMO at Saudia Holding, emphasized that this recognition reflects the group’s concerted efforts towards achieving strategic objectives, supported by the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and the group’s director general.The Global Project Excellence Awards, now in their fifth cycle, celebrate outstanding local and international organizations for their achievements in project management.

The award highlights Saudia Group's advancement in managing its strategic Transformation Program, showcasing a high level of maturity, capability, and excellence.

Al-Ghamdi explained that the company has adopted sophisticated portfolio management tools, predictive analytics, and is preparing to implement AI-driven dashboards to enhance visibility and proactive governance.Saudia views its PMO as an essential component of strategy implementation, ensuring that all projects directly contribute to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and national development objectives aligned with Vision 2030.

Al-Ghamdi further stated that the future strategy for Saudia’s PMO focuses on sustainability, intelligence, and impact.

The group aims to deepen its digital intelligence, strengthen local content, and drive initiatives, setting new regional benchmarks for PMO performance.Looking ahead, Saudia's vision is to transform the PMO into a strategic engine that accelerates transformation, empowers teams, and sets excellence benchmarks across the region.

Al-Ghamdi also offered guidance to emerging PMO leaders, advocating for leadership with purpose and adaptability.

He stressed that success in project management today is no longer about control but about enabling collaboration, fostering innovation, and maintaining focus on delivering value.The Project Management Offices Summit 2025 took place on November 9, 2025, at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh as part of the Global Project Management Forum.

The event culminated with an awards ceremony honoring winners from the fifth cycle of the Global Project Excellence Awards, celebrating a total of 24 organizations and 15 individuals on International Project Management Day.
