Saudi Arabia's Shoura Council Speaker to Lead Delegation at Gulf Legislative Meeting in Bahrain
Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh highlights regional cooperation, unity during upcoming GCC meeting.
Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Shoura Council Speaker Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh will head the Kingdom’s delegation to the 19th periodic gathering of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) legislative leaders taking place in Bahrain on Thursday.
In prepared remarks ahead of the assembly, Al-Asheikh underlined that the council's active participation in regional forums is a result of the strategic vision and leadership provided by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The Shoura Council speaker highlighted the commitment to Gulf unity and cooperative initiatives as central to Saudi Arabia’s engagement with its neighbors.
He praised Bahrain for organizing this event, emphasizing the country's dedication to enhancing Gulf unity under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa.
Al-Asheikh also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of his counterparts in Bahrain: Shoura Council Speaker Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh and Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam.
He pointed out that their cooperative parliamentary efforts have bolstered inter-GCC collaboration, supporting the block’s objectives and aspirations.
Referring to the strong fraternal bonds among GCC nations, Al-Asheikh described these legislative consultations as tangible evidence of Gulf leaders' support for joint actions and unity.
He mentioned the coordinated approach at international forums as a demonstration of the bloc's consolidated strategic outlook.
These meetings reflect the depth of cohesion, shared vision, and commitment to tackle common challenges while promoting regional security and prosperity, according to Al-Asheikh.
Expressing optimism about the outcomes in Manama, he expects them to advance Gulf integration, support collective actions, and serve the region's citizens by fostering progress, unity, and advancement.
The Saudi delegation includes Secretary-General of the Shoura Council Mohammed bin Dakheel Al-Mutairi, as well as council members Fadl bin Saad Al-Buainain, Yahya bin Mohammed Al-Matrudi, and Arwa bint Obaid Al-Rashid.
Several council officials are also part of the delegation.
