Saudi Digital Government Authority Unveils 2024 Digital Transformation Index: Boosting E-Government Services and International Leadership in Digital Innovation
The Saudi Digital Government Authority has launched the latest edition of the Digital Transformation Index (DTI) for 2024 to boost e-government services and technological evolution in the public sector.
The index aims to raise commitment levels to tech decisions, enhance e-government service quality, and establish Saudi Arabia's international leadership in digital innovation.
The virtual workshop, attended by over 2,000 specialists from 233 government entities, discussed refining measurement methodologies, significant revisions to the Digital Transformation Core Criteria document, shared success stories from DTI 2023, and outlined the roadmap for the ongoing cycle.
The 2023 Digital Transformation Index (DTI) report features 96 standards, a decrease from the previous year's 125.
A total of 226 government entities participated, achieving an 85.53% progress rate, with 88 entities advancing to innovation and integration stages.
In 2022, government agencies advanced by 80.96%, up from 69.39% in 2021.
Ahmed Mohammed Al-Suwaiyan, DGA governor and board member, emphasized the DTI's role as a technological empowerment tool for e-governance transformation in Saudi Arabia, aligning with Vision 2030's goals for digital administration.
The DTI aims to fulfill digitization, e-governance, and performance enhancement objectives.
The governor announced an initiative to accelerate digitalization in Saudi Arabia, improving beneficiary satisfaction and enhancing quality of life.
The country has been modernizing its infrastructure and enhancing technological capabilities, as shown by the opening of the Industrial Artificial Intelligence Academy in partnership with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and NVIDIA.
The academy aims to cultivate skilled national talents in industrial AI and promote partnerships with top technical organizations.
Saudi Arabia has maintained its first place ranking in the Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index for 2023, with a high maturity score of 93 percent.
The GEMS Index ranks 17 countries yearly based on the development of 84 online government services for individuals and businesses.
Saudi Arabia holds the top spot in all categories, demonstrating notable advancements in each sub-indicator.
