Saudi Arabia's Religious Authorities Announce Massive Hajj Operational Plan
Saudi Arabia's religious authorities have announced plans for the biggest Hajj organizational operation in history, with a record 14,000 staff and thousands of volunteers set to be deployed to handle the millions of worshippers taking part in the pilgrimage.
The focus of this year's operation is based on the 2024 strategic goals of the government agency, aligned with Vision 2030.
Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, president of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, said that the operational plan was a year in the making and will be conducted based on an integrated services system set by the leaders.
Al-Sudais also pointed out that thousands of volunteering opportunities will be made available and 300,000 copies of the Qur’an will be distributed between the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
More than 35,000 hours of Qur’an recitation and memorization teaching workshops will be run, along with round-the-clock scientific and orientation broadcasts in 10 languages.
Arrangements have also been made to provide translation services, guidance, and answers to pilgrims’ questions in 51 languages.
To improve the worshipper experience, digital technology, apps, and robots will be employed.
Additionally, more than 30,000 distribution points will be set up to distribute 40 million liters of Zamzam water in the Two Holy Mosques, with at least 2 million bottles to be distributed daily.
