Saudi Arabia’s NEOM Backs Paradromics With Strategic Investment to Accelerate Brain-Computer Interface Innovation
Partnership between NEOM Investment Fund and US neurotech developer aims to build a regional hub for transformative BCI therapies
Saudi Arabia’s NEOM Investment Fund has announced a strategic investment in Paradromics, the Texas-based neurotechnology startup developing advanced brain-computer interface (BCI) systems, in a deal designed to accelerate innovation in neurotechnology and expand access to life-changing therapies.
The partnership will see Paradromics and NEOM collaborate to establish a Brain-Computer Interface Center of Excellence in the northwest Saudi region, intended to become a premier hub for clinical research and BCI-based healthcare across the Middle East and North Africa.
Under the agreement, NEOM’s strategic investment arm will support the development of BCI-based therapies aimed at restoring, enhancing or replacing lost neurological functions for individuals with movement, communication or cognitive impairments.
Paradromics’ technology, which uses high-data rate neural interfaces embedded under the skin to translate brain signals into actionable digital commands, has been engineered for longevity and real-time processing, a capability its leadership says could transform treatment of conditions such as spinal cord injuries, stroke and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
The investment aligns with NEOM’s broader vision to drive cutting-edge healthcare innovation and reflects a shared mission to address some of humanity’s most pressing medical challenges.
Paradromics’ founder and chief executive highlighted the alignment between the two partners’ ambitions to expand the pace of innovation and broaden the reach of impactful BCI-based treatments.
As part of the collaboration, the new Center of Excellence will spearhead ambitious clinical research, foster regional expertise, and position NEOM as a global leader in brain-computer technology development.
The alliance also underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering transformative technologies in healthcare and supports ongoing efforts to diversify its economy by attracting and scaling disruptive tech ventures.
