Saudi Arabia condemns attempted Iranian infiltration of Kuwait's Bubiyan Island
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned an attempted infiltration by an Iranian armed group on Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island, which violated the sovereignty of Kuwait and threatened regional stability.
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement condemning the recent attempted infiltration of Kuwait's Bubiyan Island by an Iranian armed group dispatched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The alleged mission aimed at carrying out hostile acts against Kuwait.The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency, expressed its condemnation of this action which it stated violates Kuwaiti sovereignty.
It also emphasized the Kingdom's solidarity and full support for all measures taken by Kuwait to maintain stability and security in the region.
According to the statement, such violations detract from international efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability within the region.Kuwait's interior ministry confirmed on Tuesday that four high-ranking members of the Iranian Navy were apprehended in connection with this incident.
These individuals reportedly admitted to being tasked by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards to infiltrate Bubiyan Island on May 1 using a rented fishing boat for the purpose of committing hostile acts against Kuwait.
However, they encountered resistance from Kuwaiti armed forces during their attempted operation, resulting in one soldier sustaining injuries and two IRGC-linked officers managing to escape.
