On Saturday, Ukrainian officials reported that Russian missiles had hit power facilities in central and western Ukraine, exacerbating the country's energy crisis and increasing pressure on its already limited air defense systems.
The US has recently provided military aid to Ukraine to help bolster its defenses.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had conducted strikes against Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries using long-range precision weapons, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and drones, from both sea and air.
