Jordanian Foreign Minister Begins Riyadh Visit for High-Level Regional Talks
Diplomatic discussions with Saudi leaders focus on Gaza, regional stability and strengthening Arab coordination
Jordan’s foreign minister has arrived in Saudi Arabia to begin a series of high-level talks with senior Saudi officials, underscoring close coordination between the two kingdoms on regional diplomacy and security.
The visit comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East, with particular attention on the war in Gaza, developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and broader efforts to de-escalate regional flashpoints.
During the visit, the Jordanian minister is expected to meet his Saudi counterpart and other senior leaders to review bilateral relations and align positions on key regional files.
Officials from both sides have indicated that discussions will emphasise humanitarian access to Gaza, support for a ceasefire, and coordinated Arab engagement with international partners.
The talks also aim to reinforce long-standing cooperation between Amman and Riyadh on political, economic and security matters.
Saudi Arabia has played a central diplomatic role in recent months, hosting and engaging in regional and international consultations focused on stability, conflict resolution and economic cooperation.
Jordan, which maintains close ties with both Gulf states and Western partners, has positioned itself as an active diplomatic voice advocating de-escalation, protection of civilians and adherence to international law.
The visit reflects a shared commitment by Jordan and Saudi Arabia to maintain unified Arab positions at a time of regional uncertainty, while deepening bilateral coordination on issues ranging from regional security to economic collaboration.
Further meetings are expected to follow as both countries continue consultations with other Arab and international partners.
