Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation threatens to invade the city of Rafah, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from the northern and central Strip have fled to escape the intense Israeli bombardment.

In the latest efforts to halt the war, U.S. President Joe Biden said after meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan that Washington is working on an agreement regarding Israeli prisoners that could lead to a period of calm in Gaza lasting at least six weeks.

Regarding the imminent Israeli attack on Rafah, Biden reiterated the necessity of a "reliable plan" to protect civilians before launching the Israeli military operation, despite acknowledging that "a very large number of Palestinians killed in Gaza were innocent civilians and children."

The city of Rafah witnessed an early dawn massacre yesterday, where an Israeli strike claimed the lives of more than 100 martyrs and left dozens injured, all of them civilians including children and women. The assault involved bombing and destroying 24 civilian homes, mosques, and various institutions in a densely populated area, without regard to the presence of approximately one and a half million displaced people in the city.

Several citizens were martyred and injured in Israeli airstrikes and artillery bombardments throughout the Gaza Strip.

During the dawn hours of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, health sources reported the martyrdom of 5 citizens and the injury of others due to the Israeli warplanes' bombing of the Qaddouh family home in the Nuseirat camp, central Gaza Strip.

A girl was martyred and at least four other citizens were injured due to the occupation's bombardment of Al-Brazil neighborhood in Rafah.

Local sources reported loud and violent explosions in the western regions of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Israeli artillery targeted the eastern and western regions of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, and citizens reported a complete power outage in the Naser Medical complex in the city.

Seven citizens were martyred and 14 medical staff and displaced persons were injured by Israeli sniper fire in the courtyards of the Naser Medical complex in the city of Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

In the Al-Maghazi camp, central Gaza, a number of citizens were injured by bombing from Israeli warplanes.

Warnings continue to be issued concerning the occupation's invasion of Rafah. The United Nations described the potential attack as terrifying, while Doctors Without Borders warned that the anticipated military operation would be disastrous. From the White House, Jordanian King Abdullah II cautioned that any Israeli attack on Rafah would lead to another humanitarian disaster, considering that "the situation is unbearable" and "the war must end." The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, described the imminent attack as "terrifying," given the "very likely" possibility of incurring a high number of civilian deaths and injuries.

The Occupation Targets Intellectuals and Academics

Dismantling the Agency Would Be "Disastrous"

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed that dismantling the agency would be "disastrous" after facing pressure following an Israeli military announcement of finding a Hamas tunnel under the agency's headquarters in Gaza.

After addressing the diplomats in Geneva, UNRWA's Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated, "Following the disaster that struck the Gaza region, perhaps it's time to find a real political solution. The elimination of the agency beforehand... would be disastrous."

UNRWA serves as the main humanitarian assistance organization in the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from a severe humanitarian crisis triggered by the attack launched by Hamas inside the Jewish state on October 7.

Israel accuses UNRWA of being "completely penetrated by Hamas" and claims that 12 out of its 13,000 staff members in Gaza are involved in the attack.

The United Nations is conducting an internal investigation to assess the "neutrality" of the Palestinian refugee aid agency and to respond to accusations targeting several of its employees.

However, Israel's Foreign Minister considers the immediate resignation of Lazzarini crucial, following Israeli allegations of the discovery of a Hamas tunnel beneath the agency's main headquarters which was evacuated in Gaza City.

The Commissioner-General of the agency called upon the journalists to carry out an "investigation," following the end of the war in Gaza, into the Hamas tunnels and the attacks carried by the Israeli army against the people and the United Nations' facilities in Gaza.

"Since the start of the war, over 150 of our facilities have been targeted. We know some have been completely destroyed. Hundreds have been killed, and thousands injured, all of which should be subjected to an independent investigation, as well as the claims concerning the presence of tunnels."

However, Israel’s ambassador to the UN in Geneva, Meirav Shahar, stated during the session that “The current mandate of the investigation is very general. It’s not a mandate that will ensure that (UNRWA) will not host fighters in the future, and there will be no infrastructure and hundreds of tunnels under UNRWA schools, under their main headquarters.”

Deaths of Two Officers and a Soldier

The Israeli Occupation Army announced the deaths of three military personnel in the battles of southern Gaza, including the commander of Battalion 630, the acting commander of a company in the battalion, and a soldier from the battalion.

The occupation also announced the injury of two soldiers from the same battalion with serious wounds in battles in southern Gaza Strip.

Israeli Delegation to Cairo

Israeli media outlets confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to dispatch Mossad chief David Barnea to lead a senior Israeli delegation to Cairo.

The Israeli delegation will also include the head of “Shabak,” Ronen Bar, in addition to other officials.

It is scheduled to meet in Cairo with both the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, the director of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and the head of the Egyptian Intelligence Service, Abbas Kamel.

These movements come hours after U.S. President Joe Biden announced that Washington is working towards achieving a six-week truce in Gaza.

Raid and Arrest Campaign

Young man Mohammed Al-Salmi was martyred due to bullet wounds inflicted by the Israeli occupation during their incursion into Qalqilya in the West Bank.

The Ministry of Health and local sources announced the martyrdom of young Al-Salmi (21 years old), after being shot by the occupation and preventing the ambulance from reaching him during violent confrontations and armed clashes that broke out between the furious youths and the occupation forces that stormed the city.

The occupation forces stormed the city of Qalqilya with a large force from the army that carried out raids in several neighborhoods of the city, as well as several houses in Dawawin street, Ghayathah neighborhood, the Housing street, and Nablus street, and the tunnel street in the city.

Seven youths were arrested after the occupation forces stormed their homes, and the occupation's military bulldozers demolished the monument of martyrs Alaa Nazzal and Anas Qaraqe in Kfar Saba neighborhood in the city, while youths lit rubber tires and blocked streets to confront the incursion.

“Menorahs” were placed above Muslim graves in Jerusalem

The occupation forces also launched a raid in various parts of the occupied West Bank, which included arrests, confrontations, and armed clashes.

Local sources stated that dozens of military vehicles stormed the city of Jenin and spread throughout its neighborhoods, reaching the vicinity of Jenin camp amid intense reconnaissance plane activity in the city's sky and camp.

Eyewitnesses reported that armed clashes between resistance fighters and occupation forces broke out near the Al-Ahmadin roundabout in the city.

The occupation's bulldozers began destroying infrastructure and leveling streets and roads in several neighborhoods, coinciding with random gunfire towards citizens' homes.

The destruction and leveling operations affected the infrastructure and vehicles in Al-Wahdan neighborhood, Freedom Theater Street, around the Agency Schools, and the Square area in the camp.

Occupation forces also stormed the village of Sir, south of Jenin, encircling a house and targeting it with Energia shells, igniting fires inside and emitting smoke, and demanded one of the youths to surrender on the grounds that he was wanted by the occupation forces.

After about two hours, the occupation forces withdrew after arresting four brothers to pressure their brother into surrendering.

Israeli occupation forces also raided the town of Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah, with several vehicles, storming a house and ascending its roof, without reporting any arrests. Additionally, the occupation forces invaded the city of Qalqilya and conducted raids, arresting several citizens after raiding their homes.
