New Technology Allows People to Virtually Communicate with Deceased Loved Ones
A tech entrepreneur has developed a virtual reality tool named “Live Forever Mode,” which can simulate the voice, behaviors, and movements of a deceased person, providing their loved ones the sensation of communicating with them once more.
According to Sky News, the businessman, Artur Sychov, 38, revealed that the inspiration for this innovation came after his father was diagnosed with cancer, prompting fears of a day when he would no longer be able to speak with him.
Consequently, Sychov decided to use artificial intelligence to mimic his father's voice, image, behaviors, and movements, aiming to help others who have lost loved ones benefit from the same technology.
The new tool utilizes a three-dimensional virtual reality accessed by users through virtual reality headsets, allowing them to see, hear, and converse with their deceased loved ones on a variety of topics.
This tool can replicate a person's voice and behaviors with only 30 minutes of video footage for analysis.
Sychov stated, “The goal is for the deceased individual's image to live forever as a memory that future generations of their family can interact with.”
He added, “Instead of my children or grandchildren having to listen to stories about me and form an idea of what they believe I was like, they can actually talk to me and find out who I really was.”
He also mentioned that his company, Somnium Space, based in Prague, is currently studying any potential negative aspects of using this technology before its official launch.
