The United Arab Emirates (UAE) field hospital in Gaza has initiated the provision of prosthetics for Palestinians who have lost limbs as a result of the conflict between Israel and the enclave, according to the Emirates News Agency.
This endeavor includes the distribution of 61 prosthetic limbs, along with physical and psychological rehabilitation.
The UAE field hospital in Gaza, which was established in December 2020, boasts a 200-bed capacity and is staffed by a team of 98 volunteers from 23 countries.
The team consists of 73 male and 25 female volunteers.
Since its inception, the hospital has carried out 1,517 major and minor surgeries for approximately 18,000 individuals.
The hospital offers a range of services, including first aid, intensive care, and ongoing medical consultations and support.
These services have been crucial in addressing the health needs of the population in Gaza, particularly in the aftermath of the conflict.
