Jordan's Prime Minister Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Cause, Calls for Two-State Solution and Humanitarian Aid at WEF Meeting with Mahmoud Abbas
Jordan's Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh on Monday.
Khasawneh reiterated Jordan's support for the Palestinian cause and commitment to helping Palestinians secure their rights on their land.
He emphasized the importance of a two-state solution for lasting peace and stability in the region, which would result in an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.
Khasawneh also highlighted Jordan's efforts to end the conflict in Gaza and ensure continuous humanitarian aid.
Jordan is providing aid to Gaza through land crossings and airdrops by the Jordanian army due to a food crisis reported by the UN.
Queen Rania explained in a CNN interview that they had to act after failing to persuade Israel to open the land access points.
Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs also warned against an Israeli military assault on Rafah and announced meetings of the Jordanian-Palestinian Joint Higher Committee in Amman in early June.
