Dr. Al-Rabeeah and UN Coordinator Discuss Saudi Humanitarian Aid to Sudan at Paris Conference
Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, head of Saudi aid agency KSrelief, met with Clementine Nkweta-Salami, UN humanitarian coordinator for Sudan, during the International Conference for Sudan and Neighboring Countries in Paris.
They discussed mutual interests regarding Sudan's relief and humanitarian situation, as well as conference agenda items.
Al-Rabeeah showcased Saudi Arabia's humanitarian work in Sudan through KSrelief, including 13 aid planes and $60 million worth of projects in Sudan and neighboring states.
The text reports that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dispatched 20 medical volunteer teams to Sudan to aid the Sudanese people in need.
The Saudi Arabian Minister of State for African Affairs, Nkweta-Salami, commended the efforts and expressed hope for continued cooperation.
On Monday, KSrelief, the Saudi Arabian humanitarian organization, signed two agreements with the World Food Programme, worth $1.4 million, to prevent and treat malnutrition in Sudan and South Sudan.
The funding will help over 35,000 children and pregnant or breastfeeding mothers affected by conflict, economic shocks, and climate events.
