Britain, US, and Canada Impose Sanctions on Iran's Drone Industry in Response to Attack on Israel
Britain, along with the US and Canada, announced new sanctions on Thursday against Iran's military drone industry in response to Iran's drone and missile attack on Israel earlier this month.
The sanctions target four businesses and two directors at a network of drone companies with the goal of limiting Iran's ability to launch drones.
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron stated that Iran's attack on Israel posed a risk of thousands of civilian casualties and wider escalation in the region.
The UK and its partners have sent a clear message by imposing these sanctions, holding those responsible for Iran's destabilizing behavior accountable.
Britain announced new export bans on drone and missile components to Iran, aiming to limit its military capabilities.
Last week, Britain imposed sanctions on Iranian military figures and organizations in coordination with the US, following Iran's attack on Israel with drones and missiles on April 13.
This retaliatory strike was in response to the attack on Iran's embassy compound in Damascus two weeks prior, increasing the risk of further conflict in the Middle East.
