1,000 Global Leaders Convene in Riyadh for WEF Meeting on Growth, Energy, and Development
Approximately 1,000 global leaders from 92 countries will gather in Riyadh for the World Economic Forum's (WEF) Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development.
The meeting, which follows last year's Growth Summit in Switzerland, aims to address interconnected crises with forward-thinking solutions while acknowledging short-term trade-offs.
The WEF intends to bridge the North-South divide on topics such as economic policies, energy transition, and geopolitical shocks.
Børge Brende, WEF's President, emphasized the urgency of international collaboration and purposeful dialogue due to deepening geopolitical tensions and socio-economic disparities.
A special meeting was held under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with the participation of leaders from around the world.
The purpose of the meeting, according to the President of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Brende, is to turn ideas into action and find scalable solutions to interconnected challenges.
Saudi Economy and Planning Minister, Faisal Al-Ibrahim, emphasized the importance of international collaboration at this global inflection point and highlighted Saudi Arabia as an established and dynamic platform for thought leadership, solutions, and action.
