The Civil Defense Directorate has issued alerts, recommending people to avoid areas vulnerable to flooding and stay informed through various communications channels.
The Makkah region is predicted to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, hail, and experience strong gusts, impacting locations such as Qunfudah and Laith.
Comparable weather conditions are also forecasted for regions including Riyadh, Al-Zulfi, Al-Ghat, Shaqra, Al-Majma’ah, Rumah, Hail, Al-Qassim, Asir, the Northern Borders, and the Eastern Province.
In areas such as Taif, Maysan, and other parts of the Makkah region, alongside Al-Jawf, Al-Qassim, the Eastern Province, Al-Baha, and Jazan, forecasts indicate moderate rainfall, robust winds, and the likelihood of dust storms.
Parts of Riyadh, among other regions like Madinah, Hail, the Northern Borders, and the Eastern Province, share similar weather expectations.
Local resident Jawaher Al-Ghamdi stresses the importance of heeding weather advisories, mentioning how Jeddah’s erratic weather necessitates prudence. Abdulaziz Omar echoes the sentiment, particularly about Riyadh's weather warnings calling for indoor safety.
Meanwhile, Tabuk region's recent snowfall on December 28 brought its third dusting this year, particularly covering Jabal Al-Lawz Mountain. Despite frigid temperatures, locals reveled in the snow, and photographer Musheer Al-Balawi documented the spectacle, calling attention to the fleeting nature of these conditions.
The weather events underscore Saudi Arabia's varied climatic challenges, indicating more snow for Tabuk while continuing to advocate for public safety and awareness in response to unpredictable weather.
