Saudi Minister of Culture's Italian Visit: Strengthening Cultural Ties and Exploring Exhibitions
Prince Badr bin Abdullah, Saudi Arabia's minister of culture and governor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, recently visited Italy to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries.
He met with Italian Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano to discuss cooperation and cultural exchanges.
They praised various initiatives and projects in heritage preservation, fashion, music, museum exhibitions, architectural innovation, design, and visual arts.
During the trip, Prince Badr also visited the Saudi Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, where Manal AlDowayan's "Shifting Sands: A Battle Song" was being showcased.
The text discusses the art exhibition "Journeys in Land Art: Towards Wadi AlFann, AlUla," which showcases the work of Saudi artist Ahmed AlDowayan and other artists like Agnes Denis, Michael Heizer, Ahmed Mater, and James Turrell.
The exhibition in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, highlights the evolving role of Saudi women in public spaces and their attempts to redefine them through AlDowayan's work.
The event runs until April 30 and includes discussion panels on various topics related to art, museum curation, and visitor experiences.
The region of AlUla is culturally and historically rich, making this exhibition an introduction to its significance.
